You Asked, We Answered
What is cold process soap?
Cold process soap is when you mix fixed oils with an alkali (sodium hydroxide or lye). The result is a chemimcal process called saponification. Saponification changes the compostion of the oils to create a bar of soap!
How long does it take to make Cold Process Soaps?
Making a batch of cold process soap takes about 1-2 hours initally. It then takes an additional 4-6 weeks before it's ready for use. This is how long it takes for the water to completely evaporate, resulting in a harder, longer lasting bar of soap.
What is a Sugar Scrub?
A Sugar Scrub helps to remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin smooth and hydrated. The sugar in the scrubs helps to exfoliate while the coconut oil helps to hydrate. A Sugar Scrub is a great alternative to a salt scrub for those who have found those to be a bit abrasive or uncomfortable. Sugar Scrubs are a good choice for those who have sensitive skin.
Do your products with fragrance oils contain phthalates?
The Honey Hive is proud to say our fragrance oils do not contain phthalates! All fragrances are carefully chosen to make sure they are the highest quality.
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely! For custom cold process soaps, it would take about 4-6 weeks and for anything else about 2-3 weeks! All custom orders must be paid in full before I begin the project.
are the honey hive products organic?
While I do use certified organic ingredients in about 75-90% of my recipes, I am not certified organic. I do not advertise my products as organic for that reason but rest assured, I use only the best quality primarily organic ingredients in my recipes!
